Music

Honoring God Through MusicMusic is to the preacher what John the Baptist was to Jesus – the forerunner that prepares the way of the Lord. (Matthew 3:2)  While the preaching of the Bible is the preeminent aspect of the church, music is the tool that invites God’s power and presence.  The purpose of music is to prepare and soften hearts; ready to respond to the truth of the Word.  It provides a spiritual backdrop so the message can be delivered.  Music is a very important part of a Christian’s worship, and it has a vital role in our services. We firmly believe in using talents in music to serve the Lord.

God is never satisfied with a partial offering to Him, so it is important that our approach and presentation bring honor to Him.  Such commands that relate to the ministry of music are Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 5:18-19, and Philippians 4:8.

Our goal is not to mimic the culture, fads, or impressions, but the Word of God!  It is the desire of this church that our music promote Christ in a distinct way apart from worldly melody, beat, rhythm, and lyrics.
