Our Beliefs

The following paragraphs summarize what we believe as a church family.  We believe the Bible and teach it to be perfectly true.

The Bible

We believe in a plenary, verbal inspiration of the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, God-breathed (II Tim 3:16) Word, and is the final authority in the matters of faith and practice. We believe in God’s Promise to preserve His Word throughout the ages and that He has done so today in the King James Version. We believe the KJV is the accurate translation, and that all other language translations should be based on the Textus Receptus(TR). (II Tim 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)

The Godhead

We believe in a triune Godhead, which exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the existence by three persons, yet they are all One. These are co-eternal in being, co-equal in power, glory, attributes, and natures. (Gen 1:1-2, 26; Deut. 6:4, Is. 6:3, Matt. 28:19)

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the eternal and only begotten Son of God, being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, became man, without ceasing to be God. (Phil. 2:5-8) He became fully human as a man, yet remained full deity because He is God. This was done for the purpose of revealing the righteousness of God and to redeem mankind of his sinfulness. (John 1:1, 14:9; Is. 7:14; I John 4:14)

We believe the redemption of mankind was accomplished through the literal death on the cross as a representative and substitution for all man. Our justification is made sure by His literal physical and bodily resurrection from the dead. (I Cor 15:1-4) We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. (Heb 12:2) There, as our High Priest, He fufills the ministry of Mediator, Advocate, and Intercessor. (I Tim 2:5; I John 2:1; Rom 8:34; Heb 7:25)

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit of God is the third part of the Trinity. This is simply the Biblical expression of the order of the Trinity and does not mean He is in any way inferior in deity.(Matt 28:19-20; II Cor 13:14) We believe the Holy Spirit acts as our Comforter and Intercessor.(John 14:26; Rom 8:26-27)

We believe the indwelling of the Holy Spirit takes place at the point of Salvation. As believers we are to be filled with the Spirit continually as we yield to God and serve Him with our lives.(I Cor 3:16; Eph 5:18)

The Salvation of Man

We believe that all men are sinners (Rom 3:10, 23) and are in need of the saving work that was done by Jesus Christ on the cross. Salvation is a free gift from God (Rom 6:23) to all who will believe and receive it. (Rom 10:10-13; John 1:12) Salvation is by grace alone, plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions by which man receives this are repentance and faith. (John 3:16; Eph 2:8-9; Gal 2:16)

The Church

We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ. (Col 1:18; Eph 5:25-29) This is a spiritual organism made up of born-again, baptized believers. (Acts 2:47; I Cor 12:13) We believe in a local New Testament, independent, autonomous church (free from any external authority and control) that is self-governed under the control of Jesus Christ, who purchased the church with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)

We believe the church has been commissioned to spread the Gospel throughout the world. (Matt 28:18-20; Mk 16:15) We believe the church has two ordinances: the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. We believe the church has two offices: the Pastor and Deacons. (Phil 1:1)(I Tim 3:1-7)

The Devil

We believe Satan is the person or being, who is the author of sin, and the direct cause of the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he will be eternally punished along with the fallen angels in the Lake of Fire. (Gen 3:1; Matt 25:41; Rev 20:2,10)

The End Times and Eternity

We believe in a personal, imminent, pretribulational, premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones. We believe the Lord will subsequently return to the earth with His saints, at the end of the tribulation period, to establish His millennial kingdom internet. (I Thess 4:13-18; Rev 19:11-20:6) We believe in an everlasting conscious abode of the saved in a literal heaven (Rev 21:1-22:21)

We believe in an everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in a literal hell. (Rev 19:11-15)

The Separation of Believers

We believe that all Christians should live in a manner that does not bring reproach upon the Lord’s name, and that separation from religious apostasy and sinful practices is commanded by God. (Rom 12:1-2; II Cor 6:17; Rom 16:17; I John 2:15-17)

The Creation

We believe God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject the evolution, Day-Age theory, and Theistic evolution as unscriptural theories of the origin of the universe, the earth, and mankind. (Gen 1:1-2:25; Ex 20:11)

The Marriage Relationship

We believe marriage is the joining together of one man and one woman, and that God intends for that marriage to last a lifetime. (Gen 2:24; Rom 7:2; I Cor 7:10; Eph 5:22-23) We believe that God views adultery, homosexuality, and any other sexual act outside of the bond of marriage as sinful perversions.

The Human Life

We believe life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. We believe that abortion is the unjustified, un-excused taking of an unborn life and it is murder and sinful. (Job 3:16; Ps 51:5, 139:14-16; Is 44:24; Jer 1:5, Luke 1:44)
